This is my second favorite video in the series. (after the circus/tin types film) I will always choose actual film-based work over digital.

I love the look of 8mm home movies, the more scratched and art-damaged the better. I think the artist's analogy to layering in the painting process is very appropriate.

I really dig the music. It Starts of sounding like it was sound art, or environmental. I want to create a video to go with my sound art now!

I found this video to be very creepy with the way it was shot. The very jagged movements of the camera and the aged look to the film was visually appealing to me. In scene 1 with the hands being placed on the window I felt as if the person was trapped inside looking for a way out, a way out of self denial.

I love this video! This is the best one I've seen in the series.
This is the sort of work I would like to be able to do eventually.
Sounds like a tremendous amount of work was involved.

It looks Cirque de Soleil gone over to the dark side. :>

The idea was very nice, and there seemed to be a ton of substance and commentary in this piece. The King Kong part did not read well though. I did not get the reference and touching on a story took away from the purpose.

I've only seen Water & Wind: Window. The visual is intriguing at first, but I kept expecting more. I think the combination of the length and the voices made me analyze the visual details too much- I dug too deep. The use of negative space in the unmoving window worked well.

Probably the worst image to sound relationship ever. The image was semi- interesting alone, but the audio was a little too "slick". I did like the whispering alone without the music though.

the first half of the video is very beautiful. it reminds me of the secret garden or the garden of eden. the second half (from the monkey face to the end) i'm not sure i understand. also, the sound is hard to listen to...i don't know if it supposed to be that way or not.

It is always interesting when a piece can take something wholly synthetic and entirely man-made -- a steel laden symbol of mankind's industrial expansion, and break it down with a touch of organic simplicity. Altering the consistent flow of pollutants into a human-like breathing pattern allows the viewer to experience the role of man within nature in a different light.

What I found very interesting was the association that I got from the work, it reminded me of some hyper cartoon that very young children would watch or make. It is broken down to very simple parts but then it seems like it is hyped up on steroids...it was interesting but I found it too chaotic almost.

I loved the imagery, it is very apparent the work is about biological process, in relation to the artist, humanity, and or the individual, the artist statement is unnecessary.

I think this idea is very interesting. Although the use of it is only scratching the surface. I do not know the capabilities of the program, but i would sure like to find out. The fact that the structure image was similar to that of the original space is a little bit creepy. I would like to see some more angles maybe or a different variety of light application to see the full extent of the program.

The influence of democracy on other cultures is almost uneasy in a way. The conversation between the interviewees is for me, finding a method to explain the exciting new jubilance of their political standing. The imagery of the graffiti with statements of F the USA was contrasting the ideas finding democracy yet using it at the same time. Overall I find the quest for the best method of decision making a extremely interesting topic because it opens up so many viewpoints. The artistic way of capturing this event left me intrigued and wanting to hear more people!!

My initial take on this was a sense of complete uneasiness. Im not going to lie, one of my worst fears is to come across a floater when I am out swimming in the open and with seeing this struggle/outcome is pretty intense. Although I did enjoy the peaceful chilling floating scene at the beginning, right up until I jumped back from the drowning man. My hands are still sweating.

I love this idea of the nature DJ. The use of multiple environments to see and hear each of their sounds is really unique idea. I also really enjoyed the shots of the topographic maps and how it implies his travels and how this sense of inspiration can be anywhere. When the close up of the hand on glass breaks the noise sharp noises it leaves me in the moment of "mixing" and seeing the process of moving with the elements to create his sound. I would like to see the future of this elemental mixing and possibly more equipment than an old mixer...

I really enjoyed this one, the blend of music, and the person interacting with nature around him in an unusual way really came together for me. I wish though that perhaps the music sounded less electronic, and maybe something with more affinity for nature. I also wasnt really satisfied with the scenes of the hands and whatnot on what appeared to be glass, it kind of reminded me of a weird photo copier system or something.

This video had some very nice contrast to it, from the peaceful calm water to the drowning feeling you get with the face plunged into the water. I think there could have been more to the video instead of the similiar scenes focused on one area.

the layering in dead is very intriguing due to the body intertwining with the city lights to emphasize the statement about the body being like a city, very cool comparison. however, the sirens and text are very distracting. i really enjoyed nadar. the womb-like imagery helps me gain insight into what nothing is. before birth we are nothing in some respects. Also, the whole idea of how every aspect of life, no matter where or what culture, is intertwined is really mind blowing.
